The Clever Content Club
Join our club of creative entrepreneurs learning how to work with their nervous systems and against the patriarchal norms of entrepreneurship.
We will spend six months rewriting the script for how it feels to run a business in the age of social media. Because your feelings matter, and they belong in the business world.
Patriarchy tells you to hide your feelings to avoid making others uncomfortable.
We see your feelings as the main source of communication between your brain and 400 million years of wisdom stored in your nervous system.
Patriarchy is being told that your creativity only has value when it’s in service to others (and has less value than non creative work).
We believe your creativity is an extension of your self and has inherent value. Using your creativity in service of what makes you feel alive will offer the most value to your clients.
Patriarchy tells you how you “should” be running your business no matter the toll it takes on your body.
We believe there are infinite paths to success, and you don’t need to choose between success and feeling good in your body. In fact, we think the more you prioritize what feels good the more growth you will experience.
Patriarchy is thinking growth is linear.
We believe growth happens the same way it does in nature- in cycles. Since our businesses are extensions of our bodies we are set up for disappointment when we expect growth to be constant, steady, and predictable.
Patriarchy is your mom telling you she wouldn’t pay the prices you charge for your services.
We believe the people around you reinforce beliefs you hold about yourself, your business, and your success. We are proud to be building a community that facilitates connection with people who are unpacking their internalized limiting beliefs regarding sexism, racism, homophobia, ableism, and more. While we are all in different places in our journey we are committed to being curious, apologizing when we make mistakes, and choosing community over competition.
Patriarchy is all the bullshit that distracts you from what you want and keeps you busy trying to manage how the people around you feel. It keeps you stuck- so you don’t threaten the fragile system of power society is built on.

“When your own family dismisses your business or accomplishments as small and inconsequential and you want to smash something… it’s the patriarchy you’re aiming at.”
Traditional business advice doesn’t work for you because it’s not for you. It’s for straight white men with the intention of upholding the patriarchy.
Disembodiment is necessary to cope with the violence of patriarchy, from houselessness to police brutality to f*cking genocide. The world we live in depends on us being disconnected. This is more true for every intersection of identity you have. The message is clear: connection to your body, to pleasure, to rest, and to community is a threat. Thus, traditional business advice leaves no room for embodiment. It relies on you being exhausted, spread thin, and rushed. Fuck that.
Each meeting is structured to mirror a Somatic Experiencing® session- meant to heal complex PTSD and regulate the nervous system. Why would your business need the same support as a survivor of PTSD? Because similarly to how trauma impacts the body patriarchy impacts creativity. Hannah has been researching nervous system regulation and trauma healing in the context of the creative process since 2019. She has been sorting through how trauma impacts her creativity and how creativity impacts her trauma healing in the messiest way possible- doing her own healing work. While she holds a Master’s degree in design and has researched both design and trauma healing academically and professionally, the bulk of her insight comes from doing her own work. From years of sitting with her most uncomfortable feelings she has developed a healthy respect for anyone willing to face their own shit. In the Clever Content Club Hannah isn’t the expert- each member of the group is the expert in their business, their body, and what is the best decision for them. Hannah is there to help you understand what your body is trying to tell you, so you can make informed decisions for yourself.

Hannah Milks
Entrepreneur + Designer + Somatic Practitioner
Hannah (she/her), founder of Clever Babes Co, works at the intersection of design and trauma healing. She has been researching trauma and nervous system regulation since 2019 and this year completed the three-year Somatic Experiencing® training. From this training she learned how our bodies store stress in joints, muscles, and facia. When we ignore the information from our bodies this tension builds and our lives begin to feel constricted. Luckily our bodies know how to get rid of this stress- by completing the fight, flight and freeze responses. We can safely release that stress when we learn how to listen to the information given to us by our nervous systems. There is a deep wisdom already within each of us and Hannah loves to teach others how to track their nervous systems to live an abundant, embodied life. Read more about Somatic Experiencing® here.
In addition to her professional training and research, she has been doing her own healing work for five years and is committed to the lifelong journey of finding home within herself. She goes to therapy every Monday and practices journaling, gratitude walks, rock climbing, and restorative yoga as self care. She is passionate about building community around self care and believes that the most transformational healing happens in relationships.
Her role in the Clever Content Club is to create a space where you can show up completely as you are and ask questions that help you focus on what is happening in your body right now. To look past what “should be” and emphasize what is.
“My role is NOT to tell you the best way to run your business or give you a quick strategy to gain 1,000’s of followers. Those answers already exist within you. YOU are the expert in your industry. YOU built your business from nothing. YOU are the key in your businesses success. I’m here to translate the information from your nervous system (that often feels like unwelcome and uncomfortable emotions) into action steps that feel good to implement.” -Hannah

The word somatic means "of the body". When we say somatic work in the context of the Clever Content Club we mean using the body as a guide for the creative process. The term "somatic work" can also be used to talk about a method of trauma healing and nervous system regulation.
Hannah is trained in Somatic Experiencing® which is primarily a method of trauma healing used by therapists. The training takes three years to complete and requires at least 20 additional hours of personal sessions and professional case consultation. Hannah has finished all the training and is finishing her hours of case consultation and hopes to have her SEP (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner) certification by January 2025.
She has been researching trauma healing since 2019 when she was in graduate school for architecture. She found her passion at the intersection of nervous system regulation and design in school and has since built a business, social media following, and Somatic Journaling curriculum all dedicated to helping people feel more comfortable in their bodies. She is a pioneer in the brand new industry of trauma informed design and is proud to offer this unique style of support to entrepreneurs in KC and beyond.
