Hannah
Designer + Somatic Practitioner
Hannah (she/her), founder of Clever Babes Co, works at the intersection of design and trauma healing. She has been researching trauma and nervous system regulation since 2019 and this year completed the three-year Somatic Experiencing® training. From this training she learned how our bodies store stress in joints, muscles, and facia. When we ignore the information from our bodies this tension builds and our lives begin to feel constricted. Luckily our bodies know how to get rid of this stress- by completing the fight, flight and freeze responses. We can safely release that stress when we learn how to listen to the information given to us by our nervous systems. There is a deep wisdom already within each of us and Hannah loves to teach others how to track their nervous systems to live an abundant, embodied life. Read more about Somatic Experiencing® here.
In addition to her professional training and research, she has been doing her own healing work for five years and is committed to the lifelong journey of finding home within herself. She goes to therapy every Monday and practices journaling, gratitude walks, rock climbing, and restorative yoga as self care. She is passionate about building community around self care and believes that the most transformational healing happens in relationships.
This trip came to be when Hannah was seeking healing that felt restful, playful, loving, and easy. So much of healing is focused on putting in “the work”, but that implies that you have to earn your healing. This trip is about receiving- and acknowledging that you are inherently worthy of rest, pleasure, and love.
Hannah is an Aquarius and loves to do things her own way. This trip is the culmination of her love for design, travel, and somatic healing orchestrated together to create a one of a kind trip.

Quinn
Herbalist + Shamanic Practitioner
Quinn (she/her) has immersed herself in earth-based spirituality since the first time she was told, “go play outside and come back when it starts to get dark.” Playing in a shaded creekside of her childhood home in rural Nebraska Quinn ventured into realms she would only fully understand many years later. These early life experiences became the foundation for her Shamanic education which focuses on Celtic and Druid traditions and drum journeying as a way to connect to the spirit world. Quinn has been actively studying and training with experienced elders for the last 8 years in preparation to help her clients connect more deeply with themselves, their guides and their own inner shaman. Quinn’s modalities include intuitive channeling, divination techniques, sacred art and astrology. She teaches an immersive Herbalism Apprenticeship at Sacred Earth Arts in Kansas City, Kansas and hosts a variety of classes from home herbalism techniques to Tarot reading and plant meditation.
Alongside her Shamanic education Quinn has also studied extensively in the field of herbal medicine making and North American medicinal plants. She owns and operates Wildcraft Co., a herbal self-care business that specializes in plant-based body care products with an emphasis in aromatherapy, pure ingredients and minimalist recipes. Wildcraft’s motto is “Radical Self-Care”, which to Quinn means looking beyond what is comfortable and getting to the heart of your needs, on a mind, body and soul level.
Quinn will be providing divination and astrological readings for each trip attendee as well as for the whole group. She will be leading walks to help familiarize everyone with the amazing medicinal plants of Costa Rica and to connect with the plant spirits of the land. Quinn will also host a variety of experiences on the trip including sacred art making and herbal self-care tutorials.
Quinn’s Sun sign is in Virgo and she lives to nurture plants and humans with the knowledge she has accumulated and the magic she holds dear. Quinn has been on her healing journey for 10 years and loves to support others on their own journey's with the same techniques that have been so beneficial to her along the way.

Alison
Educator + Designer
Alison (she/her) has a curiosity so contagious you will feel the wonder of childhood again being around her. She teaches product design at the Kansas City Art Institute and holds degrees in both art and architectural design. She is an expert in 3D modeling and fabrication and blows glass professionally at a local shop in KC. Outside of work, she loves to travel, play with her cats, and find delicious vegan restaurants.
Her role on the trip is to support the group logistically and help navigate any hiccups that may happen. Alison is an experienced traveler and stays cool under pressure, skillfully handling stressful situations. This role is essential so Hannah + Quinn can focus on supporting the group. She will be able to answer your questions about the itinerary, menu, and other details while on the trip.
Alison is an Aires and her passion for living an embodied and creative life will light up the group. Recently in her healing journey, she has started working with a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and loves to experiment with embodiment practices in her design work.
Flights + everything you need to know about arrival and departure
You will need to book your own flights
Specific information about booking flights will be emailed to you once you sign up for the trip. This is generally what you need to know:
You will need to book your flight to and from the San Jose airport- Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). You must fly into this airport to meet up with the group and get transportation to the house.
Please be careful that you do not accidentally book a flight to the San Jose airport in California! This is an easy mistake to make, so double check you are flying to the correct airport.
Plan to spend between $400-$600 round trip. This may change depending on what airport you are flying out of and when you book your flights. If you see flights in the low $400’s that is a great deal.
Everyone attending the trip will be mailed a Clever Babes Co sweatshirt, please bring this to wear at the airport to help you identify fellow trip members!
You will need a valid passport
This trip is international so you will not be allowed to fly without a valid passport.
For your passport to be valid it must not expire within 6 months of the trip. So if your passport expires on or before July 14th 2025 it will not be valid. You must renew it beforehand.
If you need to apply for a passport or renew your passport please do so immediately. This process can take months!
For more information on applying for or renewing your passport click here.
Transit between SJO to the house
Transit between the airport and the house is included in the cost of the trip. Alison and either Hannah or Quinn will be at the airport waiting for you all to arrive. Once everyone has arrived there is a private bus taking everyone to the house. This will be about a three hour journey, so prepare for a full day of travel.
*more information about flights, flight times, and when the organized transit will happen will be emailed out to participants after they have made their room deposit.
FAQs

For the comfort of the group, all participants must agree to:
Say no to anything that doesn’t feel good. It is so important that each member of the group does what they need to do to take care of themselves to create space that feels safe to share authentically and vulnerably.
Respect no from anyone at any time for any reason (or no reason!)
Encourage ourselves and other group members to trust our intuition.
Show up with the belief that each person is the expert on their body and their life.
Not give advice unless asked or given permission to share.
Be curious and open as much as possible.
Be respectful of everything including: the property, land, culture, language, staff, group members, varying identities and beliefs, and everything else. There is a strict 0 tolerance policy for assholes and bigots!
Be willing to share what makes you so fucking cool with the group! If you know 100 random facts about butterflies I want to know that about you. Sharing your knowledge and interests is not bragging and can benefit the whole group!
Be safe with your body and watch out for the safety of others.

That is okay! This trip is designed to facilitate connection between group members before we even leave the country. There will be a virtual meeting a few weeks before the trip to start getting to know each other.
Fun fact- at Hannah’s somatic journaling groups most people sign up not knowing anyone else attending. This creates an openess in the group and actually makes it easier to make new friends because everyone is looking for a buddy!
-
This trip is about finding pleasure within your body- not from substances like drugs and alcohol. There are no drugs used for healing purposes on this trip and illegal drug use in the house is not allowed.
